I rarely write reviews like this because most businesses I deal with don't stand out like this one. I recently had William Baldwin install a carburetor he rebuilt on a ford van I'm restoring. From the first phone conversation I had with him I figured he was an "old school" guy (even though he was younger than I had thought when I did met him) When I say old school I mean he has a real work ethic (he takes personal pride in his craft, does what he says he'll do and does it right) and genuinely cares whether his customer is satisfied with the work he does, which is rare these days. How do I know this--well, he came all the way from Thomasville to Durham, installed that carb in my van in the driveway, tuned it and took the time to educate me while he was working. The van was running perfectly when he left. The next day I had some trouble (not due to his work but because I didn't clean the gas tank well enough prior to reinstallation), I called him, he answered immediately , told me to get some tools and walked me through the process of troubleshooting. He knew exactly what and where the problem was and I had it fixed in minutes. When I initially called him to explain the problem he offered to come to Durham "right now" to fix it ---that, folks is "old school" customer service you just don't see anymore. He has since called a couple more times just to make sure all was good and I was happy with the outcome--hell yes !. I plan to do a few more performance upgrades to this van in the near future (he also took the time to advise me about those) and you know who I'll be taking it to for that--you bet ! If you are reading this review and considering getting any auto performance work done, do yourself a big favor and give Baldwin Performance a call FIRST (I've done the homework for you already, believe me !) --you'll be very happy you did. Thanks William for your expertise, outstanding customer service, patience and for doing things the "old school" way. Looking forward to the next stage !
